Autumn/Winter in Kintyre

Autumn in Kintyre is spectacular. From the excitement of a dawn watch seeing the progression south of flocks of seabirds, waterfowl, waders and passerines to the antics of pup seals with their mothers in the shallows.

Autumn and winter is always colourful whether from the changing leaves before they fall or the bright blue skies and winter sunshine reflected on the water. It rarely snows here and the days are usually mild. Picnics of Christmas cake, hot chocolate and brandy on the beach on Boxing Day are not unheard of.

A peaceful walk on one of the many the beaches or a more strenuous climb to Ben Ghuilean, where both east and west coast can be seen at the same time, can be enjoyed all the more with the prospect of a relaxing evening in front of the log burner with a glass of champagne or a dram of Springbank’s special whisky.

The night sky is brilliant with stars and sometimes the Northern Lights appear to the delight of everyone whilst the sunsets really do need to be seen to be believed.

Christmas & New Year

Look forward to a luxurious, romantic break at Christmas or New Year away from the humdrum of everyday life. Enjoy the seclusion and peace of your turf roofed cottage whether indulging yourself in the spa bath and sauna or listening to the logs crackling in the stove whilst admiring the views from your windows. Smell the real Christmas tree and light seasonal candles as you munch on homemade mince pies and shortbread.
